Diversity is something that simply cannot be overlooked or left out. Diversity is one of the things Berea is known for, and keeping diversity in the classroom, whether the diversity be because of race, sexual orientation or gender is imperative. Diversity keeps a classroom moving and open-minded. Having different backgrounds and cultures makes having a community of inquiry that much easier simply because there are so many different ideas of how the world works in one room.
