For group One's presentation, they handed out toilet paper rolls, rubber bands, paper, markers and scissors. They asked us to make a quick art project. Among the things made were airplanes, trees, people and jewelry. I made a Kaleidoscope. When Bobby asked us to offer why we made what we did, I realized the constructivist element to my design. I was not sure what to make at the beginning and had a minor moment of panic when I thought I would not be able to think of anything. Then I started to think about having Kaleidoscopes as a child, and tried to think of how I could make my markers, toilet paper roll and rubber band into one. I realized that I could not make a genuine Kaleidoscope, but I could make a replica that would serve the same purpose. I drew a design on the paper with the markers and tore the paper to fit just bigger than the hole of the toilet paper roll. I rubber banded the paper to the roll and called it a Kaleidoscope. I realized that I had pulled from my knowledge of what a Kaleidoscope might look like if it did not change pictures.
