Though it may not fall under the category of Cultural Diversity, diversity of projects and our ways of thinking were definitely present with Group One's presentation and activity. When asked to produce a quick art project so many different things were made. Bobby made pink and purple jewelry to match her outfit. She even wore it for a while. It is obvious even by her daily dress that jewelry is part of her self identity.
She wears it to match her outfits and often it is an interesting cultural necklace or bracelet. Megan made a tree. She did not explain why she made a tree, but she colored the paper to be green leaves and even made a knot hole in the brown roll that served as a trunk. For me, this is what I think of when I think of a tree- green leaves and a dark knot hole. Her tree made me think of Bambi and the Owl in Bambi. Micah made an airplane and demonstrated how an airplane flies when he talked about his activity. I made a Kaleidoscope and no one else did. It seemed to me that no one made the same thing. The diversity of ideas even in a college classroom is very obvious, and this is something I feel should be taken into serious consideration when thinking about a classroom or curriculum plan.
